Waqar Afzal
Waqar Afzal is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan and a Registered Foreign Lawyer (England & Wales), with professional experience spanning corporate advisory, regulatory strategy, and institutional governance.
He serves as Founder and Managing Partner of YG Consultants, a governance and legal strategy advisory firm specialising in corporate compliance, regulatory structuring, and institutional reform advisory. The firm supports private-sector entities and institutions in strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing regulatory resilience, and enabling sustainable growth in emerging markets.
Alongside his advisory work, Waqar is pursuing a Doctorate in Law with research focused on access to justice, linguistic equity, and the structural foundations of the rule of law. His work examines how institutional design, legal language, and regulatory architecture influence public trust, democratic legitimacy, and investor confidence.
He is a Fellow of Advance HE (UK), recognised under the Professional Standards Framework for higher education. His academic and professional experience positions him at the intersection of legal practice, policy analysis, and institutional development.
